Hi fashion aficionados!
We all know in order to support our LOVE for fashion sometimes we tend to sacrifice our
bank accounts and a little bit of our comfort. We have all done it so do not deny it! ;)

Keeping up with the latest trends and designer brands can take a big hit to our wallets. So for this blog we wanted to draw inspiration from the
current trends and designer looks on the catwalk to create realway looks for young adult females to feel comfortable on the streets of California.
Being college students, we can understand the word "BUDGET", so we want to show you how to wear the latest trends and our favorite fashion
looks for less while still having that trendy edge.

As a follower of KBT’s Runway to Realway you can expect a post every week. The posts will cover a trend for spring 2012 with inspirational
pictures of Runway looks and designer ready-to-wear fashion pieces. After the inspirational pictures we will describe how to wear the trend in
everyday looks and show pictures of the realway look. Enjoy :)

PAINTING WITH PASTELS

Pretty pastels float through the runway in baby yellows, corals, and soft sky blues.  This color trend offers a  refreshing palette cleanser to step into the spring months.  The sweet pastels keep to the lighter shades of the color wheel creating an almost innocent look.  Color blocking in pastels was also a huge trend with designer looks, giving the sweet colors a more fashion forward edge. Below are some savory pastel looks to draw inspiration!

READY-TO-WEAR SS12

JONATHAN SAUNDERS' mixes soft yellow with a pastel blue.  The dress has a tie-die feel with the pastel blue on the ends and the center filled yellow adds a spring time flavor.

RODARTE adds a gladiator edge to the pastels to give it a sexier and rough touch to play up the innocent feminine qualities of pastels.  She is wearing dark smoky eyes, a bright yellow belt, and bronze shoulder caps all creating a very unique and well put together look for the pastel trend.

3.1 PHILLIP LIM does an amazing job in this color blocking with pastels.  The colors are fresh and airy in light orange, lilac, and almost ice white yellow.  A gorgeous look that you could take straight from the office to a night out with your gals.

VALENTINO played up the femininity in this pastel yellow all lace dress. The dress is beautifully paired with exquisite jewlery, that starts off as earings but connects and drapes around the neck to form a necklace. Her hair is done in a braided crown that completes the look from head to toe.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG takes the pastel trend to a more sporty avenue with funky sunglasses and a casual tank.  The tank is a shimmery green and the skirt is in a neutral grayish yellow. The tank is paired with a flowy knee length skirt to add a girly vibe but the outfit still holds its sporty chic style.

LOUIS VUITTON combines big lace flowers with color blocking.  The top is white with a ice green laced collar, the middle section is a laced coral, and the bottom continues the seamless floral design in a baby blue. The look seems to touch base with the 70s and still you can already see people wearing this exact dress on the streets.
