Hi fashion aficionados!
We all know in order to support our LOVE for fashion sometimes we tend to sacrifice our
bank accounts and a little bit of our comfort. We have all done it so do not deny it! ;)

Keeping up with the latest trends and designer brands can take a big hit to our wallets. So for this blog we wanted to draw inspiration from the
current trends and designer looks on the catwalk to create realway looks for young adult females to feel comfortable on the streets of California.
Being college students, we can understand the word "BUDGET", so we want to show you how to wear the latest trends and our favorite fashion
looks for less while still having that trendy edge.

As a follower of KBT’s Runway to Realway you can expect a post every week. The posts will cover a trend for spring 2012 with inspirational
pictures of Runway looks and designer ready-to-wear fashion pieces. After the inspirational pictures we will describe how to wear the trend in
everyday looks and show pictures of the realway look. Enjoy :)

AB FAB

  AB FAB TREND

Get your tummy's in shape this spring ladies, because they are coming out to play in the sunshine! Models showed off their bare midriffs in bandeau styled tops paired with high waisted bottoms.  This look allows for a sneak peak of your flesh, however it does not reveal your belly button. Designers such as: Bill Bass, Dolce & Gabbana, Nina Ricci, No. 21, Prada, and Proenza Schoulder showed off this ab fab trend.  The designers went from solid whites, to florals, to stripped bandeaus, and some cropped tops came down the catwalk.  The bottoms played with pencil skirts to billowing flowing skirts to shorts, all keeping with the theme of high waisted to cover up the belly button. Check out some inspirational looks below.

READY-TO-WEAR SS12
NINA RICCI's take on the trend is a solid white strapless bandeau paired with a high waisted floral patterened navy blue pencil skirt. The accessories are a black thin belt and a head wrap.
BILL BASS's take on the trend is a more nautical look that is a classic spring "go-to". The model is wearing a cropped stripped tee with a black blazer with gold buttons over the shirt, giving it a more sophisticated edge.  The top is paired with white shorts and aviator sunglasses to finsih the look.
NO. 21 pairs a plaid bustier top with an all black high waisted lace pencil skirt and matching clutch.  This look is sexier and more feminine, to say the least. ;)
DOLCE & GABBANA went bold and bright.  The color to watch for this spring is orange and here it is in firery hot chillies on a matching strapped bandeau and full billowing skirt.  The look is finished off with a black belt.
PRADA gets girly with a strapless bandeau and loose fitting above the knee skirt.  Both top and bottom are in the same cohesive pattern, pulling the look together lovely.
PROENZA SCHOULER adds some fun to this balck and white strapless bandeau, with a yellow patterned pencil skirt.
